What Happens 4 Weeks After Vaser Lipo Treatment?

Vaser liposuction is a form of liposuction that uses ultrasound to break and liquefy fat cells, making them easier to remove. Going through any cosmetic procedure is never easy. For most people, the recovery road ahead poses a certain uncertainty that can turn them away from the procedure. If you’re considering the procedure, what can you expect 4 weeks after Vaser lipo treatment? Let’s find out.

What is Vaser Lipo Treatment?

According to the latest plastic surgery statistics, non-surgical cosmetic procedures account for about 43% of all requested procedures in the UK. Liposuctionlip filler and Botulinum toxin are among the UK’s most searched-for non-surgical cosmetic procedures

Liposuction helps remove unwanted fat cells and is usually carried out in areas where stubborn fat collects, like the thighs, hips, tummy and upper arms. Vaser liposuction is a technique that uses ultrasound waves to break and liquefy fat cells, so they are easier to remove. The liquified fat cells are then extracted using a needle. Vaser liposuction has risen in popularity because it results in less damage to the surrounding tissues than traditional liposuction.

You will need to be at a certain weight to undergo Vaser liposuction. The procedure doesn’t guarantee permanent results unless you take measures to live a healthy life.

Like traditional liposuction, Vaser liposuction can help target areas like the neck, chin, chest, flanks, tummy, back, thighs, buttocks, hips, knees, and the underside of the arms.

What Happens 4 Weeks After Vaser Lipo Treatment?

After Vaser liposuction, you should expect to go home the same day. The procedure is minimally invasive, so it should take about 2 to 3 days to feel normal again. Recovery time varies from patient to patient and depends on the treated area and how much fat was removed. Generally, the average recovery time for most people is about 5 to 7 days, but you will continue healing in the weeks that follow.

It can take up to 3 months for some patients to fully recover. The first few days are the most critical. You may notice leakage of a pink-orange fluid at the surgical site. This should resolve after a few days. Pain following Vaser lipo is usually minimal, and it’s highly unlikely that you will need to rely on pain medications.

The area will be swollen for 4 to 6 weeks, and there may also be bruising and numbness. Your plastic surgeon will advise you to avoid heavy lifting and strenuous activities to allow your body to heal fully. You will need to wear a compression garment for 6 to 8 weeks to help reshape the body.

4 weeks after Vaser lipo treatment or around the one-month mark, you shouldn’t be experiencing any pain or soreness. There will be some swelling still, though. With Vaser lipo, swelling can take months to subside. After 4 weeks, you should also begin seeing visible results, which should continue improving as the swelling and bruising go down.

You should also be able to resume light exercise but should still avoid heavy and strenuous activities. After 6 weeks, most of the bruising and swelling will have subsided. At this point, you’ll no longer need to wear your compression garment.

Are Results Immediately Visible After Vaser Lipo Treatment?

Most patients notice a change in the contouring of their body immediately after Vaser lipo treatment. However, the results will be masked by swelling and bruising. Results can be seen fully after 2 to 3 months once the inflammation subsides. After 6 months, your skin should have fully tightened in the treated area.
