What is an Endoscopic Brow Lift?

An endoscopic brow lift is a minimally invasive surgical procedure to reduce frown lines across the forehead and lift drooping eyebrows.

What Does an Endoscopic Brow Lift Involve?

A brow lift is one of the top 15 cosmetic procedures in the U.K. Also known as a keyhole brow lift, this procedure aims to give you a rejuvenated and more youthful appearance.

An endoscopic brow lift differs from the classic or coronal procedure. In the classic operation, the surgeon performs a cut from ear to ear across your hairline. This allows the surgeon to pull up the skin, removing frown lines from the forehead and lifting the eyebrows to a young-looking position.

When it comes to an endoscopic brow lift procedure, the surgeon tries to eliminate the extended, unsightly cut across the entire forehead. So instead, the doctor makes a series of small incisions along your hairline.

The surgeon inserts an endoscope (a small camera device for viewing inside tight body spaces during surgery) into the incisions. Then, with various surgical equipment, the surgeon manipulates the skin, raising it to make the forehead smoother and more youthful.

This also extends to the eyebrows, lifting them to give you a rejuvenated, youthful look.

Why Get a Brow Lift?

As you grow older, your skin gradually loses its elasticity, causing it to sag in various areas. One of the most prominent areas that show ageing is the forehead and the eyebrows.

The forehead develops deeper frown lines across it, making you look older, tired and stressed. In addition, the eyebrows droop lower, compounding the aged look.

However, with a brow lift, the surgeon can raise the skin, pulling it up towards your hairline. This raises the eyebrows and forehead skin, making it smoother and providing a more youthful appearance.

With this procedure, your face appears younger because of the following:

  • Less furrowed lines across the forehead
  • Raised eyebrows
  • Smoothening out crow’s feet – small wrinkles and lines around the eyes
  • Removing excess skin for a smooth facial look

Benefits of the Endoscopic Procedure

However, while a traditional open brow lift provides these benefits, it leaves you with a scar across your hairline.

But, as discussed earlier, your surgeon only needs to make about five incisions at discreet areas just behind the hairline when it comes to an endoscopic surgical approach.

This provides the same benefits as before, but with added advantages. These include:
